Mulch and Stone Calculator

Use this calculator to figure out how much product you need to complete your project.

For mulches and stone, the depth by which an area is covered is usually expressed in inches (or centimeters). The area to be covered is expressed in square feet (ft2) or square meters (m2). The amount of stone or mulch needed is expressed in cubic feet (ft3), cubic yards (yd3) or cubic meters (m3).

STEP 3
Material depth

Enter the depth of the material for your space.

For mulch & pine nuggets we recommend a minimum of 3 inches (7.5cm) for new applications on bare soil, or 2 inches (5cm) if topping up on previous year's mulch.

For stone products we recommend 3 inches (7.5cm) for large diameter stones, or 2 inches (5cm) for smaller stones.
